William (Bill) R. Blair, BComm, CPA, CA, CBV
Licensed Public Accountant
Partner

Bill is the firm’s administrative partner and oversees a varied practice of audit, accounting and taxation for a diverse clientele of businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals.  Additionally, Bill manages the firm’s business valuation and related services practice.  Business Valuations are typically required for corporate reorganizations, family law settlements and the resolution of pricing issues for privately held business interests.  With over 30 years of public accounting experience,  he can be counted on to provide meaningful insight into business decisions on a timely basis.

Bill currently serves as the Chair of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation Board and actively supports various organizations in the community such as the United Way and the YMCA of Central East Ontario.

Bill is a graduate of the Commerce program at Queen’s University and formerly worked with the Toronto office of KPMG, an international accounting firm.  He is an avid cyclist who also enjoys running, swimming, golfing, snowboarding and travelling to enjoy these passions.

John graduated from Trent University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with McColl Turner in 1986 and was admitted to the partnership in 1999.  John is the firm’s Information Systems Leader and manages a varied general practice of audits, accounting and taxation engagements for a diverse clientele of businesses organizations and individuals and is an experienced auditor of not-for-profit organizations with a focus on health care related organizations and educational institutions.

Marilyn J. Feige, BMath, CPA, CA

Partner

A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Marilyn qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Wilkinson & Co. in 1985.  She then completed the CICA In-Depth Income Tax Course while working with Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants in Toronto, and was Manager of Canadian Tax with Inglis Canada (a Whirlpool Corporation subsidiary).  Marilyn joined McColl Turner in 2000 and has completed the CICA In-Depth GST Course Part 1.  Marilyn is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, and was admitted to the McColl Turner partnership in 2007.

Marilyn manages a varied accounting and taxation practice for a diverse clientele of businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals, works with estate accounting and income tax services and provides commodity tax advice to her clients.  An active community volunteer, Marilyn serves as a member of the YWCA Finance Committee and as a Board Member and Treasurer of Peterborough Economic Development.  Marilyn also enjoys spending time at her cottage.

Brad Collyer, BBA, CPA, CA

Brad graduated in 1996 with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 1999. Brad joined McColl Turner in 2004 and was admitted to the partnership in 2009.  Brad provides audit, accounting and taxation services for clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, with an emphasis on serving small business owners in the local community.  Brad is the firm’s business development leader and in addition to his work with the firm, serves as the Treasurer for the Peterborough Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA), for the Peterborough branch of St. John Ambulance and as the Treasurer for the Peterborough Sales and Advertising Club.  Also, he previously served as the Chairman and Treasurer for the Peterborough branch of Ducks Unlimited.

Brad is the Executive Director of The Ketchecum Club and enjoys coaching his kids’ soccer and hockey teams.

Marie graduated from the Queen’s University Bachelor of Commerce program in 1998.  Her professional career began with Ernst & Young LLP in Toronto, she joined the McColl Turner team in 2000 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001.  In 2013 she was admitted into the McColl Turner partnership.  Marie is the firm’s Human Resources partner and enjoys a varied practice of auditing, accounting and tax services for a diverse clientele of businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals.

Marie is a member of the Board of Directors of Community Futures Peterborough, serves on the Finance Committee for Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough and is a past Board Member and Treasurer of United Way of Peterborough & District. She is a mother of three very active children and enjoys practicing yoga.

John DeVroom, CPA, CA

John graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 after having worked with medium sized local Chartered Accounting firms in Windsor and Thornhill.  After obtaining his accounting designation, John worked in Toronto as the Manager of Financial Accounting for McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited and as Manager of Corporate Accounting for General Foods Corporation.

In 1989 John moved with his wife Dianne to the Peterborough area. After a few years operating a small business in Bridgenorth, John started a small public accounting business that focused on providing accounting and income tax services to small businesses and individuals in the area. On July 18, 2016, John transferred his accounting business to the McColl Turner team where he looks forward to continuing to service his existing clients and new clients seeking quality personal service.

John enjoys playing recreational hockey throughout the year and relaxing by the pool in the summer.

Kevin G. Mulligan, BBA, CPA, CA
Senior Manager

Kevin joined the McColl Turner team in 2007 after graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University’s Business Administration Co-op Program. He obtained his CA designation in 2009.

As a senior manager, Kevin provides accounting, auditing and tax services to a wide variety of clients, including profit and not-for-profit sectors.

Kevin joined Peterborough Green-Up as a Board Member in 2013 and currently serves as Treasurer. He is an active member with the Peterborough Horseshoe Club and is the former Secretary/Treasurer in which he served for 4 years. He also enjoys a wide variety of sports including hockey and baseball.

Amy L. Lewis, BAcc, CPA, CA
Senior Manager

Amy graduated from Brock University’s Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) Co-op program with First Class Standing in 2008 and joined the McColl Turner team full time in 2009 after completing all of her co-op work terms with the firm. She received her CA designation in 2010.

As a senior manager, Amy provides accounting, auditing and tax services to a wide variety of clients, including profit and not-for-profit sectors.  She is also involved in monitoring the firm’s quality assurance in her role as chair of the firm’s Quality Control Committee.

Amy serves as a Community Member at Large for the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on the Stewardship and Audit Committees.  She is also Treasurer of the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society.

Amanda N. Mellegers, BBA, CPA, CA
Manager

Amanda graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Trent University in 2010 and joined the McColl Turner team that year.  She received her CPA, CA designation in 2014.

As a manager, Amanda provides assurance, tax and accounting services for our clients, both in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.  Currently, Amanda sits on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for the United Way of Peterborough & District.

Amanda is a member of the firm’s Quality Control committee and enjoys cooking and baking with her family in her spare time.

Andrew first joined the McColl Turner team in May of 2005 with summer internships while attending Carleton University.  Upon completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a minor in Law, he came back to the Peterborough area where he joined the team full time.  He received his CPA designation in October 2016.

As a senior staff accountant, Andrew provides accounting, assurance and tax services to a wide variety of clients, including for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

Andrew is a member of the Peterborough Rotary Club, where he is active in the World Community Service committee as Treasurer and the Breakfast for Kids program at Prince of Wales Public School and the Habitat for Youth committee as a volunteer.  He is also very involved with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peterborough – he serves as Treasurer and is an active volunteer in their annual Christmas Gift Wrapping fundraising event at the Lansdowne Mall and as a past Big Brother.  Andrew is most proud of his annual commitment since 2001 to cycle in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, a 2-day cycling event in support of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Toronto.

Andrew is an avid sports fan and enjoys cycling and playing golf and baseball.  Andrew also loves spending time with his family and friends and travelling.

Kaz Nesbitt
Kaz C. Nesbitt, BComm, CPA, CA
Tax Manager

Kaz graduated UOIT’s Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) program with distinction in 2012 and joined the McColl Turner team full time that year after having previously completed a summer internship with the firm.  He received his CPA, CA designation in 2015.

As a tax manager, Kaz helps clients to meet their tax compliance and planning needs in the area of personal, corporate and trust tax.  From corporate reorganizations to estate planning, he will help clients to structure their affairs in the most tax efficient manner while remaining compliant with Canadian Income Tax legislation.

Kaz is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and is a Board Member and Treasurer for Peterborough Condominium Corporation No. 19.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, riding his motorcycle and he has a passion for personal fitness.

Emma Hillier

Emma joined the McColl Turner team in the summer of 2009, while studying at Trent University.  She graduated in 2011 from the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) program on the President’s Honour Roll, joint-majoring in Business Administration and Economics.  Upon graduation, she joined the McColl Turner team full time and received her CPA, CA designation in 2015.

As a senior staff accountant, Emma provides accounting, auditing and tax services to a wide variety of clients, including for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

Currently, Emma is the Treasurer of the Community Counselling and Resource Centre, where she also sits on the Finance, Executive and HR committees.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys being active, spending time outdoors, travelling, knitting and cooking.
